Rated by Reuters as one of the most powerful India born businessman, Satya Nadella has truly made the country proud by his achievements. He is the CEO of the software giant Microsoft. Have a look at some of the facts about Nadella.
Nadella is the fourth highest paid CEO in the US with an annual compensation of around 84 million dollars. This also puts him in the league of one of the highest paid India born executives.
Nadella did his bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology and masters in computer science from University of Wisconsin. He also holds an MBA degree from Booth School of business, University of Chicago.
Days in India
Satya was born to a traditional Telugu family and grew up under the guidance of his father who was serving as a civil servant in the Indian Administrative Services. Nadella has always wanted to build something from his childhood days.
Satya is a huge cricket fan and he admits that his earnings from cricket has helped him in his professional life thereafter. He has implemented leadership and team building lessons from cricket to business.
Married his love
Very few people get the opportunity to marry their loved ones. Satya too was lucky in this regards to have married his long time love Aupama from his high school in Hyderabad. It’s been 22 years of their marriage and they have three beautiful kids.
Nadella takes classes in his free time. He describes himself as a lifelong learner and he says he buys more books and signs up for more online courses than he could ever complete.
Loves sweets and poems
Satya has a sweet tooth, he loves eating pastries. His friends admitted of him taking full advantage of the tea breaks and in spite of that he maintains a good physique by running. Satya also is passionate about poetries.
Calm and reserved
Satya is a very reserved and calm sort of a person. In fact while discussions of his appointment as a CEO the calmness factor was the most important attribute that went in his favour. He has more than 1 lakh followers on twitter but he rarely comes online there.
Prior to becoming the CEO of Microsoft, Satya was the President of the servers and tools division of Microsoft and was instrumental in designing one of the largest cloud infrastructure of the world for Microsoft. He has also worked at the Sun Microsystems.
Giving back to the society
Satya has always believed in giving back to the society more than what he took from it. Nadella has launched a series of innovation programs for Indian schools in collaboration with Microsoft to help the education system improve.
