31st October A movie based on story of Indira Gandhi’s assassination & communal riots of 1984

Now days we see many Directors are coming out and making films on diverse but real life topics. Bollywood is no more interested in love and romantic films. In last couple of years we have seen pictures being made on famous personalities and events which took place in the history.

This time Director Shivaji Lotan Patil is coming up with a film titled as ‘31st October’ which is made on former Indian Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi’s assassination followed by one of the worst communal riots ever in India.

31st October is story of a Sikh family who gets caught in their home when the city was going through the communal disturbances. Soha Ali Khan is playing as Tajinder Kaur whereas Vir Das will be seen as Davinder Singh. Daya Shankar Pandey is one of another known star cast.

Though the film has been screened at a film festival but release date of it is not known yet. It is expected to release sometime in October in year 2016 this year. As heard in media, after lot of struggle with sensor board the film has got approved with some cuts looking at the sensitivity of the topic.
