A mentor is an experienced person who knows far better than you. When you start your startup, you must hire a mentor and take his advise. Taking a mentor is a must do thing for a startup founder. Once you have the mentor, here are ‘7 Things you must Learn from your Mentor’:

1) First Meet

Explain your Business model to your mentor. See what response you get after that. Listen that carefully no matter if you are not convinced with his view point.

2) Questionnaire

Mentors generally look for people who ask tough questions. When you plan to meet a mentor, write your questions on a paper and go prepared to your mentor. You should not sound blank in front of your mentor.

3) Be specific

Don’t get distract. Ask specific questions. Note down your mentor’s response against all questions. Ask him more relevant questions.

4) His opinion

Take your mentor’s opinion. It’s not about validation of your idea but problems which you are facing. Take his advise on important matters.

5) Follow up meet

Upon completion of first meet you can fix up a follow up meet. You can ask mentor’s permission to contact him through email / phone or personal visit to his office. Also follow your mentor on Social media.
