Salman Khan Initiative
The NGO is started by none other than Salman Khan. This is another reason for the meteoric rise of Being Human. The merchandise are popular amongst the youth because of Salman Khan. Many Bollywood actors have also promoted the NGO by wearing its merchandise at promotional events.
Special edition Suzuki Scooter
Suzuki Motorcycle India pvt. Ltd. Has launched a special edition of its best-selling scooter Suzuki Access in October 2013 as a collaboration with the NGO Being Human. The revenues generated through this partnership goes in social service in Health care and Education.
Being Human has projects like Akshara High School, Aseema, Career Development Centres, Educational Resource Centre, and Maharahstra Prabodhan Seva Mandal. These projects have seen tremendous support from Being Human in the form of sponsoring education for children, giving them basic employability skills and training and development of the underprivileged section of the society.
Being Human also supports a variety of health activities like Cranofacial Surgeries, Little hearts program and free eye camps. Apart from these, Being Human has also actively volunteered in Maharashtra drought relief and Kashmir floods. It also helps in the registry for Marrow donors in India so that a transfusion can take place immediately during emergency.
To carry out its volunteering activities Being Human has tied up with a number of other organizations. Some of the big names include The Max Foundation, Coca-Cola India Pvt. Ltd, Maaya Foundation, Fortis and Mandhana Industries.
