Angoorlata and her filmy career

Angoorlata Deka is a known Bengali & Assamese film actress. She has done films like Junda Iman Gunda, Bakor Putek, Surjasta, Hiya Diba Kak and eeya Jurir Xubax.

Entry into politics

Angoorlata Deka is in news now days as he has been elected as MLA on Bharatiya Janata Party’s ticket. She joined BJP in 2015 and defeated Congress candidate MLA Goutam Bora from Batadroba constituency. She won by a margin of 6,000 votes.

Became part of the historical moment

She is new in politics but she is quite confident to do well under leadership of his party leaders. BJP gave tickets to only six women candidates and Angoorlata was one of them. She witnessed the history created by BJP in forming the first ever Government in Assam.

Small town girl

She comes from a small town Nalbari. With her performance in films she got popularity in Assamese cinema. She has been working in entertainment world since year 2007.

Reel life politics

Her closeness to politics is once when she played character of Pakistan’s Ex-Prime Minister Ms. Benazir Bhutto in Assamese Mobile Theatre.

Her passion for dance

Angoorlata is passionate about dance. In her childhood she wanted to master Kathak and she got training from Barnali Mahanta. She got her first break in films when she met Chakrahar Deka a Director in her dance class. She got some family opposition when she started working in films.

Her mentors

She has taken lot of guidance from famous Indian actress Seema Biwas who also belongs to the same place Nalbari. Apart from Seema Biwas, she is big fan of actor Tapan Das.

Personal life

As far as her personal life is concerned, she is married to Akaasheep, who is also an Assamese film actor. Couple lives in Batadraba (Nagaon).
