For how many hours can you go on watching movies back-to-back? Six? Eight? Twelve? 24 hours at best? Well, there is a Canadian gentleman who has gone on movie-binge that lasted 121 hours and 8 minutes. And if you reckon it’s no big deal, the wait till you read this: The man watched movies the record number hours without taking a nap. Yes, he watched movies for 121 hours and 8 minutes. And he never dozed off even once!

This unbelievable ‘couch-potato’ experience was relished by a gentleman named Suresh Joachim, and he has earned himself a record in the coveted Guinness Book of World Records.

Talking about his latest feat Joachim feels “he is very excited as it is his first title in Africa.”

If you’re thinking Joachim is the first-ever to do so, well, no he isn’t. Prior to Joachim, the first and previous-best marathon-movie-watching feat was accomplished by Ashish Sharma in India. He had spent 120 hours 23 minutes, watching 48 movies.

As far as Joachim’s new record new record is concerned, all the movies he watched for the record-time were streamed through Telkom’s Boltspeed fibre.

And this is for first time that such a movie-watching experience has been accomplished via streaming-facility.

This movie-marathon was a part of The Telkom Unlimited Movie Marathon, which was organized at the Sheds in downtown Johannesburg in aid of LifeLine, the official charity. R10 000 was given to LifeLine.
