Bambukat Punjabi Film brings our attention to issues like discrimination based on color

Bambukat in Punjabi is generally referred to motor cycle. Bambukat is a new Punjabi movie which is releasing on 29th July 2016. After watching the trailer one can easily understand that this movie is mix of emotions, comedy and highlighting some of social issues.

Bambukat is a story of two sisters Pakko and Sami. In Punjabi Pakko is referred to someone who has dark complexion. Thought Pakko and Sami are sisters but Pakko gets biased treatment considering her skin color. Whereas Sami is given preference for almost everything because her whitish skin.

As per the trailer the story moves on from childhood to younger age of both the girls. Pakko gets married to a poor Punjabi boy but Sami gets married to a rather rich bureaucrat. Sami and her husband feel proud because they have motor cycle (Bambukat) whereas Pakko and her husband feel sad because they are humiliated for not having motor cycle.

This film brings our attention to the fact that in our society we still discriminate based on the color and even when we live in the science, technology and digital age, we still demoralize people because of their social standard. Hope this film will change our minds.
