Anurag Thakur is famous Indian young politician. He is elected member of Lok Sabha from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh.

Son of former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Anurag belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. Currently he is President of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).

You must have heard in news that Anurag Thakur has joined Territorial Army in India. Some people may get confused as what exactly it is joining “Territorial Army”.

Territorial Army is a group composed of volunteers who undergo military training for few days and then become ready to participate and offer their services during emergency situations.

Territorial Army is called second line of defense after the regular / formal Indian army. Joining Territorial Army doesn’t give you any official benefits like those who serve with Indian army.

This is a volunteering service and not any occupation, profession or source of employment or earning. People join it to serve their Nation in case of crisis.

Hence Anurag Thakur has got that army training which is required to join Territorial Army and his services can be used in case of any crisis.

If we leave behind any kind of politics, this is a welcome step and we are sure it will inspire many other youngsters to do the same.
