Magnificent lady alumni of London School of Economics, Swati Bhargava started Cashback business in the UK called Pouring Pounds with her husband Rohan Bhargava in 2011. The business was expanded to India last year and was launched as CashKaro. Now, Cashkaro is India’s fastest growing Cashback site.
Grown up in Ambala, a small town near North Delhi, Swati did her graduation in the London School of Economics (LSE). She worked at Goldman Sachs in London for 5 years – 4 years in Investment Banking (Structured products) and 1 year in the Executive Office with the Goldman CEOs Michael Sherwood & Richard Gnodde.
Swati married Rohan, whom she met at LSE three years back. Both of them wanted to do something of their own and they started exploring many business ideas in the Digital Marketing space in the UK. They noticed Cashback making a big buzz in the UK and thought that it could be an interesting venture to start off with.
Cash back business “Pouring Pounds” was started by Swati and Rohan in the UK in 2011. Raising fund of 750,000 USD from UK investors, they did launch Cash Karo in India in April 2013. The site claims to be the largest cash back and coupons site in India, competing with others like baggout.com and Pennyfull. They work with more than 500 brands like Amazon, Snapdeal, Jabong.
All about the site is the site drives sales to such leading ecommerce sites for which they get paid commission. A large part of the commission is shared as ‘Cashback’ with the members. Latest coupons offered also give savings to the members. This makes the cheapest way to shop online in India. With lot of enthuse, Swati says, “business is growing very fast” and believes that managing a work-life balance as an entrepreneur is always challenging.
The young entrepreneur says her achievements have made her more and more thankful to God for giving her these opportunities. She also feels lucky to have met a lot of much smarter people than her and really grateful that she was lucky.
