The much-awaited CAT-exam results were declared recently. Among a slew of candidates who emerged as toppers this year, one of them is Sanuj Mittal. Obviously elated by his latest remarkable achievement, Sanuj credits his hard work and meticulous preparation to have done the trick for him in achieving a master-stroke in the CAT-exams.
Sanuj is a final year engineering student from Delhi Technological University (DTU) specializing in electronics engineering.
As far as his performance in the latest edition of the CAT-exams goes, Sanuj states matter-of-factly that he was expecting his score to be in the 90s, and so when he learnt that he had attained a perfect 100, he was pleasantly shocked, and more so because he cleared the exams with a 100-score in the very first-attempt! That’s special, indeed!
For Sanuj, preparation is all about practice. He spent more than good amount f time cracking mock tests as he believes there’s no better way to crack a CAT-exam. And Sanuj knew that the 1-week-before-the-exam-study does not and should not be applied for CAT-exams. In fact, he started his preps many months in advance – the exams were in November, and he began preparing in January for the same, and this wisdom helped him most in the end.
Sanuj also clarifies one popular misconception that only ‘institute-coached’ candidates are able to clear CAT-exams. Sanuj himself enrolled in T.I.M.E. for his preps, but he believes “it is not necessary that a candidate who has joined a coaching institute will only be able to crack CAT, and one who has not joined an institute will not be able to excel in the exam.” The big plus about joining an institute is that it instills a sense of competitiveness in the candidate and the mock-papers given by the institute are very helpful.
