IRB Infrastructure helps ONCO Hope to keep an eye on cancer in Thane and Dombivli

IRB Infrastructure helps ONCO Hope

In a bid to ensure adequate healthcare facilities for people in the suburbs of Thane and Dombivli region, IRB Infrastructure has joined hands with ONCO Hope of GKC trust. The leading infrastructure developer has donated an advanced Mobile Cancer Screening and Mammography & Vision Restoration Center to ONCO Hope – an initiative of GKC Trust, to make quality healthcare easily accessible for cancer checkups and vision restoration.

The center is a well-equipped van with fully-automated computer radiography and a mammography machine in its front section. The rear section is designed for testing and vision restoration treatment. The AC mobile center is designed to ensure best comfort for patients. Besides audio visual aids, the van is also equipped to collect data for statistical analysis. The cancer care and mammography unit can handle 25-30 female patients at a camp. The vision restoration section can take care of around 100 patients in a day.

Furthermore, the mobile center would facilitate doctors in delivering lectures to the masses to increase awareness in the rural regions of Thane and Dombivli. As of now, this unit is expected to accommodate 400 women patients for cancer check-ups and around 1,000 patients for vision restoration every month.

Early detection of curable cancers through timely awareness and screening, increases the chances for successful treatment. The center would ensure early detection and facilitate right treatment of cancer.

The GKC Trust, which is run by Dr Anil Heroor, Dr Anagha Heroor and Dr Tejinder Singh, has been working to educate community about eye care and preventable eye diseases.  While acknowledging the initiative of the Mumbai headquartered infrastructure company, Dr Anil Heroor said, “We are really thankful to IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd for extending this valuable support to ‘ONCO Hope – GKC Trust’ in its endeavors to spread awareness about Cancer and Eye diseases in rural areas and provide timely diagnosis. We are sure that the facility made available by IRB Infrastructure would be of great help in our mission.”

Commenting on the initiative, Mr Virendra Mhaiskar, CMD of IRB Infrastructure said, “It’s the need of the hour to make healthcare services available to every citizen, especially in cancer care and vision restoration. We need to take care of those hailing from the interior areas and hard-up sections, people who are deprived from healthcare facilities.”

“This is just a small contribution from our company for societal well-being. We will continue to explore such opportunities in the future to serve our society better,” he added.

Apart from healthcare, IRB Infrastructure also aspires to reach far-flung areas with better educational services. The infrastructure developer group is working towards easy accessibility of education by opening schools in various areas, and working for the socio-economic betterment of the underprivileged.
