Ever since Mr. perfectionist, Aamir khan has announced his new movie Dangal and is said to be based on a true story, a name has come into a limelight. The name on which his movie is based and on his life too. His name is Mahavir Singh Phogat, the Indian wrestler who was famous for his free style wrestling. Not only the name, even the life is made out of struggles. Not before this everyone knew about him but he was the person to remove hurdles in his life and in his daughters life too and emerged as a complete success.

Mahavir Singh Phogat was born in a remote area Balali, a small village in Haryana. Balali was a village where even fighting for the rights was considered to be a crime and in case of daughters, the village did not give expected rights. Mahavir Singh Phogat’s life grew up between the some hard taboos.
Mahavir Singh Phogat’s wife supported him with every dream of his. Later on when he became of father of two daughters, Mahavir fixed his dream and years later he quit his job as his daughters were growing up. He wanted his daughters’ to be wrestling champions.
The struggle to achieve
Things were not easy for Mahavir as they seemed to be. Mahavir wanted his daughters to be the top wrestlers but in the village he was raised was bound by taboos and restricted by many self formed rights but to turn his daughters into inspiring personalities, Mahavir fought against all odds. He defied all arguments, risked his own life and career and despite all the hurdles, he stood for his daughters.
Mahavir began coaching for his daughters but he was worried whether he can create a interest in them about the wrestling or not but despite all efforts he continued. Mahavir’s passion bring back fruitful results and moreover, his daughters love for him emerged as a complete success.
Mahavir Phogat’s daughter’s- Babita and Geeta were trained hard by their father and became the first female wrestlers to win gold medal in Women’s wrestling and also the first Indian female wrestler to qualify for Olympics.
Success with no bar
Mahavir Phogat with his daughter success at the wrestling championship proved that success had no bar and discrimination can lead to a big hurdle. Phogat fought against all odds to prove that his daughters are best and no hurdle can them from making big and this was something against the boys and the opposers of the village.
Perfectionist picks up the idea
Aamir Khan, who is known to portray character like no other has picked up the life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters in his upcoming movie Dangal where he will show the life story of Phogat and his family and the upbringing of his daughters through major struggles.
Mahavir Singh Phogat is recognized internationally for his exceptional wrestling and coaching skills. After breaking all the so called taboos of the village, Mahavir becomes an inspiration to all the fathers of India. He is a man who only believes in action.
Since his wife and brother’s death, Mahavir has raised, guided and coached five daughters who have made a remarkable success. Mahavir had spread the true definition of zero biasness between sons and daughters.
Mahavir believes that women’s place is not just in the kitchen. Daughters should be raised to achieve their dreams and it’s also the duty of the parent to do the same. Struggle for their equal rights.
