Here’s some more news which just got floated, and well-reflects that Modi’s ‘Make in India’ mission is seriously working and how!
According to latest reports, Mother Dairy has decided to build a fruit and vegetable processing plant in Jharkhand. This positive news is slated to provide good boost to the food processing sector and Make in India.
Mother Dairy is the fully-owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and it got the state’s full clearance for going ahead and putting up a processing plant on land-spread of 27-acres in Nagri block of state-capital Ranchi.
The overall cost-estimate of the project is pinned to be Rs 76 crore and expectations are rife that the plant should be up and running in the next financial year.
The land-acquisition is like likely to take place in December, and discussion of details for the project have already been done when high-ranking officials met up with principal industry secretary Uday Pratap Singh.
Once operational, the processing plant will see production worth 25,000 tonnes for which it will need 1-lakh metric tonnes of raw fruits and vegetables.
Estimation is that up to one lakh farmers or more are expected to directly get advantage from the project through backward and market linkages as the company is keen to retail frozen vegetables like cauliflowers, green peas, carrots, sweet corn and tomatoes in the near future.
