Mitali Dogra- Jammu and Kashmir’s wonder girl and the youngest ever state awardee

It is often said that Jammu and Kashmir doesn’t contribute much towards Indian sports like the other states and very few sportsman have made it big from this state of J & K.

It must be noted that lack of proper infrastructure plus other factors like poor support from the government , complacency etc are the main drawbacks of Jammu and Kashmir and that is the reason why the state does not produce quality sports persons. Now there is one great sportsperson named Mitali Dogra who has made the people of Jammu and Kashmir very proud and happy by her stupendous feats. At the age of 17 she was the youngest ever state awardee and she is popularly called as wonder girl of J&K now.

People of India and J&K must not have forgotten the fact that this Mitali in the year 2009 represented India at the 29th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at Mie, Japan and she also took part in other important tournaments like World Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics at Belarus in the year 2010. FIF World Cup at Pesaro, Italy was one competition where she did well and it must not be forgotten that in 2010 she was a member of Indian Gymnastics team for Commonwealth games that took place in New Delhi.

The incredible achievement of this Mitali was she won 38 medals in all. This Mitali is of the view that in future government of J & K would do many for its sports persons. Hats off!!
