Mahashay Dharmpal was born in Pakistan (part of India before partition) and moved to India.


He left school when he was in class 5 to help his father in business.


Initially he tried many businesses like selling mirrors, soap business, carpentry job, hardware business, rice trading and cloth merchant etc but could not do well.


MDH known for Mahashian Di Hatti was his father’s parental business of trading spices. They were famous as ‘Deggi Mirch Wale‘.


When he came to India after partition he had just 1500 rupees in his pocket.


He started spices Business in Delhi with a small wooden shop.


He built MDH with his hard work, dedication and keen interest in making best spices.


MDH today have thousands of stockists and lacs of retail dealers who are spread across the globe.


For social service he has setup hospital and number of schools.
