Nadia Murad Basee Taha Yazidi girl Recounts her Sex-Slavery Nightmare

Sex-slavery is one of the worst forms of sex-abuse. Period. It is common knowledge that people taken hostage by IS (Islamic State) have to do and undergo numerous questionable and frightening experiences to survive with them. In case of the women and girls, all of them are thrown in the pit of sex-slavery, and it only gets worse from there.

One brave girl, who was victimized after being converted into a sex-slave, talked about her ordeal and hardship during a speech she delivered to the UN.

The girl’s name is Nadia Murad Basee Taha, and she is a Yazidi. The 21-year-old courageously managed to escape from the grip of the terrorist-organization, and was brave of her to speak of her struggles so boldly albeit emotionally in front of the audience at the UN Security Council.

She began narrating her story that started when the IS fighters took her away from her village in Iraq last August, and she was thrown into a bus and driven down to Mosul.

All the captives on the bus, Nadia said, were inappropriately touched and groped by the IS-men. “They humiliated us. They touched us and violated us.”

Nadia and more than 150 Yazidi families were taken to Mosul. “In a building, there were thousands of Yazidi families and children who were exchanged as gifts.”

Nadia recalls her nightmare, “The man who took me asked me to change religion. I refused. Then, he asked for my hand in marriage, so to speak. That night he beat me. He asked me to take my clothes off. He put me in a room with the guards and then they proceeded to commit their crime until I fainted.”

Nadia story offers a mere glimpse into the horrors of the terrorist-outfit. Before concluding her speech, Nadia beseeched to “get rid of Daesh (IS’s name in Middle East) completely.”
