P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke TV series based on the story as how inhumanly we treat our war heroes

Nikhil Advani, the director of films like Kal Ho Na Ho and D-Day is now focusing on the medium of Television and is ready to bring his own Magnum opus show titled as P.O.W.- Bandi Yuddh ke. The show will be a finite TV series based on Hatufim (Prisoners of war)- an Israeli drama series upon which the American TV series, Homeland is based.

Trailer of the show was recently launched officially by Star Plus.

According to Nikhil Advani, the channel approached Nikhil Advani after watching his film D-Day and wanted to make similar show and make it as real as possible. The people from channel had already watched Hatufim and they asked Nikhil to watch the show.

The show is a story of two soldiers played Purab Kohli and Satyadeep Mishra who went missing after the 1999 Kargil war and are falsely trapped by the armies of neighboring nation and are release after 17 years and this questions the credibility of these Army Jawans who have been forced to change for the worse in those 17 years.

The show also stars Sandhya Mridul and Amrita Puri as the two soldiers wives.

P.O.W.-Bandi Yuddh Ke reveals the worst of all cases in which a Army men is kept in the rival nation for long and how they are tortured and not only this, the show also reveals the pain of the wives of the soldiers who go missing and focus on their pain, trails and the uncertainties they suffer silently.

“As I watched the show, I realized that the real prisoners of war are these soldiers’ wives and families. In those 17 years, the wives haven’t been able to move on with their lives, every time they want to move ahead, they have this sense of guilt that’s holding them back. They think, ‘what if he comes back?’ ‘There is still hope,” said Nikhil.

The show will be shot around Delhi and Patiala and will air in October on Star Plus.
