Very few people know about him. His name is Budhia Awooga Singh.

Brief Background of Budhia Singh
Budhia Singh was born in the year 2002 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in a poor family. At a very early age his father died. Due to monetary issues, Budhia was sold for just Rs. 800 to a travelling Salesman.
When Budhia Singh was Sold
When Budhia was not treated well by the Salesman who bought him, Budhia’s mother took help from Biranchi Das, a judo coach and orphanage operator locally, and requested him to take care of Budhia.
When Biranchi Das came to his Life
Due to a punishment, Biranchi Das asked Budhia to run and was amazed to see that Budhia ran for many hours. He was found medically fit after the checkup when he ran for many hours.
How Budhia Singh became Marathon Runner
From here Biranchi Das trained Budhia to run marathons. Budhia at the age of four years covered 65 kilometers from Bhubaneswar to Puri and took seven hours and twenty minutes. Due to his achievement he got listed as the world’s youngest marathon runner in the Limca book of records (Year 2006). It is heard that so far Budhia has completed close to 50 marathons.

Budhia has done many TV ads. He has been an inspiration to many kids. Some other films, documentaries are also said to be made on the life of Budhia. Marathon Boy documentary was funded by HBO & BBC Storyville.
