Richart Sowa has made his dream come true ! A dream of owning a private floating island for himself and his lady love Jody Bowlin who has helped him in his vision.
He took 7 years and 150,000 recycled bottles to achieve this !
His 8000 sq mt Joyxee Island, is a free-floating, eco-paradise built in a lagoon inside Isla Mujeres, near the city of Cancun in Mexico.
Richart’s island home has all the modern amenities with the usual kitchen, bedroom plus a dry compost ecological toilet, jacuzzi, a rooftop sundeck too.It also has a ferry which is made from plastic bottles, and it can carry eight people.It uses solar electricity.The islands is made up of air-filled plastic bottles, wooden pallets, fruit sacks,plywood, heaps of sand and planted mangroves all of which hold the island together.
61 year old , Richart is also an artist, singer, songwriter, and carpenter.He organizes music and art shows to raise donations.He is planning to transform the house into an eco-spa bed and breakfast.
