Nora Poggi & Insiyah Saeed have created a documentary film called She Started It .It is a film on five women tech entrepreneurs over a period of five years. The movie revolves around how they got the idea to start a VCs, from there on to create teams ,build products and source it to the market. The documentary takes the audience on a global rollercoaster ride covering cities of San Francisco , Mississippi, France, and Vietnam and how the women fail and start again to achieve their goals. The documentary film is all set to premiere its first show at the Mill Valley Film Festival in California on October 8th .
The documentary film also features views from different leading women in the tech sector like Megan Smith, CTO White House , investor Joanne Wilson, Debbie Sterling, GoldieBlox CEO and Ruchi Sanghvi , first female engineer at Facebook.
The duo met at a Women 2.0 organization supporting female entrepreneurship event in 2013 and decided that it was high time to showcase the stories of real successful women who were making it happen thereby encouraging more women to take the leap. They learnt a lot during this process on how to keep going and putting in efforts for our goals and never give up! They picked up lot of qualities like Grit, resilience, perseverance – which are mandatory for everyone to achieve successful results. They feel that young women should also take time to nurture their networks and their support system like family, friends, colleagues, other women at work. They must try to look for a mentor and maintain strong relationships with the people around.
This film She Started It provides incredibly inspiring stories about persistence and resilience, the failures and successes of young women who worked hard to pursue their startup dreams.
