We really like “Humans of Delhi Police” Facebook page which shares nice, motivational stories of policemen, time to time. Today they have shared a story of Sub Inspector, Rakesh Kumar. He is young, bright and dynamic police office. He had opportunity to make more financially rich carrer somewhere else (in some other field) but he chose to be Police Service. He has not even got time to watch a movie from last 5 years. Read in his own words.
“I had never imagined that I would be a part of Delhi police one day. I was doing my post graduation from Kurukshetra University when my friends filled up my form for the Delhi Police . Eventually, I became a part of Delhi police in 2008. In the initial years , I prepared for NET after the service hours and I qualified it with flying colours. Although , I still continued in the police. As an investigating officer , I haven’t set any limits to myself. I have willingness to challenge myself quite optimistically in each task I am given .Each case of which I have been given charge of , is embedded visually deep in my mind. What I feel bad about is that , the people quite bluntly talk about the lathargic attitude of police. Just for your information , 3 nights have been passed since I had slept . The amount of hardwork we have to put in is far beyond the imagination of people. We crave for holidays that are very very rare in this service, and it really hurts a lot when people talk rubbish about police. If you ask me what do I do in leisure time , I would beg you some leisure time. 5 years have passed since I last watched a movie. Commitment is something which needs to be inculcated thoroughly in you if you do service for the nation as a proud police officer. ” – Rakesh Kumar, Sub Inspector.
