“Talvar” New Movie: Should Parents Watch This Movie?

Talvar movie review

Talvar is a new upcoming Hindi “Murder Mystery Thriller” film directed by Meghna Gulzar which is scheduled to be released on 2 October 2015 in Indian theaters. Based on the trailers released for the film, one could easily determine that it’s story seems to have resemblance with “Noida’s Arushi Murder Case”. We are not going into details about the case and not trying to link anything.

Our purpose of writing this article is to understand what impact this film can make on the audience. Since it’s a story related to a family whose 14 years old girl is murdered and the trauma thereafter which the parents go through highlights few social issues. This film will surely raise question about upbringing of kids in modern society, handling kids and their problems, enabling value system, drawing lines or becoming friends with kids, busyness in life which keeps parents away from their children, importance and involvement of domestic staff in one’s life etc.

Based on the star cast, Irrfan Khan & Konkona Sen Sharma and credibility of Director Meghna Gulzar, we can say they must have portrayed each and every character and incident with due care and perfection. We feel that parents should watch this movie in order to understand where they are actually lacking while taking care of their kids. If the message is delivered, this film may prevent potential incidents like “Arushi Murder Case”. Not alone entertainment, looking at the sensitivity of the subject, we think this film will be more watched because of the message in it.

Famous dialogues of the movie being shown in the trailers

It’s better to free ten criminals than imprison one innocent.

Have you seen statue of justice? One hand holds a sword. But in the last 60 years, the sword has become rusty.
