Running a small business is often quite difficult. Three brothers-Govind Tripathy, 25 years of age, 23 years old Gopal and 21 years old Madhav, being graduates, made a big decision to be the business owners for a career. Starting a business takes more than an idea. It takes proper planning, hard-work and most importantly-financial funding. These three graduate brothers with their enthusiasm to support the poverty of their family, started a small scale tea stall. Their tea shop in the capital of Uttar Pradesh holds a signboard, ‘Graduate Chaiwale’, indicating the ability and commitment of the brothers. While setting their business instead of struggling for a white-collared job, knowledge is the virtue.
The eldest brother Govind Tripathy is a graduate in Computer Application from IGNOU in 2012 and also has worked in a Lucknow based call centre and earned 5000 monthly salary which was far less than the unbearable work load. The rest two brothers are also graduated from ASBD Memorial College in Hardoi. The idea of running a tea stall for their financial stability allowed them to anticipate problems and also decide how to handle them. They didn’t have funds to start a big business and also didn’t know English properly because of their background which is said to be an essential requirement for a decent job, but still they didn’t give up their hope to earn a respectable bread butter for their family. It describes the passion of their business. They are able to earn Rs 350-400 per day after deducting all the material and maintenance costs of the tea shop.
The eldest brother considers this tea stall as a small step towards big things and plans to start a chain of tea stalls in the city. Younger brothers while giving their respected turn at the stall, also are preparing for the civil services and bank recruitment exams. Running a small business becomes successful with the proper execution of a business plan.
