Odisha born Indian –American filmmaker Mira Nair has caught the attention of many with her many films before is known. This Mira Nair has made a film titled ‘’Queen of Katwe’’ and the film would hit the screens soon. It is superb to note that this USA sports drama film would showcase the rise of a person named Phiona Mutesi.

It is really amazing that this Phiona Mutesi was born in Uganda and was brought up in the slums of Katwe. Phiona Mutesi then rose to become Woman Candidate Master as she did superbly at the World Chess Olympiads. It must be noted that this film is bankrolled by Walt Disney Pictures and ESPN Films.

Madina Nalwanga in the role of Phiona Mutesi has done remarkably well and has given life to the role. This film hit the theatres on 23rd September in North America and general theatrical release would be on 30th September. It must be noted that in this film Phiona Mutesi,her mom Harriet, and her siblings live in a Kampala slum that is highly crowded and sell maize to make both ends meet.

It is important to note that this Phiona Mutesi enters a chess club led by Robert Katende. According to Robert Katende chess is a equalizing force that gives power to powerless. Phiona Mutesi plays chess and makes many heads turn with her amazing talent. This Phionas Mutesi now inspires many.

It is now said that director Mira Nair has brought out the daily struggles of the people living in the slums with actors doing great justice to the roles. Superb!!
