69 Years old Legendary Artist David Bowie has died after battling with cancer. An official statement has been posted on Artist’s social media pages which says “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief”. As a Tribute, here are 5 Inspiring this to know about David Bowie.
Wikipedia defines him as “He was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter and actor. Bowie was a figure in popular music for over four decades, and was known as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His androgynous appearance was an iconic element of his image, principally in the 1970s and 1980s.”
“Space Oddity” was his first hit song. It entered top five of the UK Singles Chart after it’s release. He was experimental with his work. He continued his efforts and re-emerged with the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust.

Biographer David Buckley defines Bowie’s impact at that time as “He challenged the core belief of the rock music of its day” and “created perhaps the biggest cult in popular culture”. “His influence has been unique in popular culture—he has permeated and altered more lives than any comparable figure.”
He was characterized as “Plastic Soul” with the number-one single “Fame” and the hit album Young Americans which gained first major American crossover success for him.
Throughout his career, as an estimate he had sold 135+ million records worldwide. For the BBC’s 2002 poll of the Greatest 100 Britons, he ranked number 29.
