Indians continue to acquire top-jobs in prestigious institutions across the world. Such positivity and faith in Indians internationally is further helping India’s image and standing on the world-map.
The latest showcase of this faith is the news of an Indian-American’s election to the front the University of California’s Investment Fund.
Vivek Ranadive has been elected as Chair of the UC’s Investment Fund. An eminent name in India and America’s business-circles, Ranadive will take charge of accumulating funds for University of California, which will be utilized for investment in innovation ventures.
He will get support in the form of USD 250 million from University of California’s investment office, the fund will be an autonomous body helmed by Ranadive, who will be in-charge of developing a business team and pulling in outside capital.
Ranadive has already established himself as the founder and former CEO of TIBCO, a multi million-dollar real-time computing company. He is also the owner and chairperson of the Sacramento Kings, a National Basketball Association (NBA) team.
Obviously Ranadive feels more than just honored by his latest achievement. “It is a tremendous honor to partner with the University of California in this unique collaboration focused on investing in breakthrough technologies emerging from the world-class University of California system,” Ranadive stated.
The high-ranks at the UC reckon that Ranadive is a force to be reckoned with. “Vivek is a visionary who has transformed the way businesses operate across the world and developed his own innovations in Silicon Valley,” UC’s Investment Officer Jagdeep Singh Bachher said.
